Who’s Involved?

Launchpad is a business support programme for new and existing businesses. The programme began in April 2016 as a 3 year project, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund and due to its success was awarded additional ERDF investment and extended until June 2023.

To ensure the continuity of the programme and to support even more would be entrepreneurs and early stage businesses, Launchpad has successfully secured investment through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) from July 2023 to March 2025.

Launchpad is delivered across South Yorkshire and led by the award winning team Enterprising Barnsley, within Barnsley Council and delivered in partnership with the City of Doncaster Council, Sheffield City Council and Rotherham Council.  It is supported and part funded by the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and has attracted £2.5m investment through UKSPF.  The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda.   The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.
